I tested the Riviera Romper by Winterwear Designs! I’m not going to lie, as soon as I got the notification I was chosen I almost had volunteers remorse. What was I thinking, a grown up romper on my plus size self? This could go very wrong! You know what though, it didn’t, at all. It’s totally cute on me 😛
The romper comes in size XXS-XXXL. I made the XL top and XXL bottoms. There are options for shorts, capris, cap sleeve, and a tank with contrast strap. I chose the cap sleeve shorts version for this one. I also picked the pocket option. I always need pockets. I used a 2 way stretch knit for the top and some lightweight stretch denim for the bottoms.
The Romper has this adorable open back that’s high enough to completely cover my substantial bra. I was a worried that it might be difficult to take off for bathroom trips especially since I sized down on top but that isn’t an issue at all. It is very easy to untie the straps and slide the whole thing down.
I’m super happy with how this turned out and I really enjoy wearing it. It’s very functional, stylish, and easy to move in. Perfect weekend wear whether you’re going to be out running around or lounging around the house. I made another version in just knit specifically for loungewear. It looks great in drapey wovens too so you could make a super chic dressy version.
I’m really happy that I stepped out of my comfort zone a little for this. I’ve never worn a romper before but I’m totally sold and will be keeping one in my wardrobe from now on.
Go pick up the Riviera Romper as it is sure to make you a Romper convert too!
