Love Notions had this great idea for a tour for different looks for Valentines day and I was happy to get on board. I did not sew for myself much through the Holiday period and have been in full on kid sewing mode since the start of the year. It’s warming up and I have lost a little weight since last summer so I really needed some clothes for myself. I’ve had my eye on the Pemberley for a while and it was the perfect time to get it done.

I wanted to do a casual date night look which has the bonus of being able to work into my normal wardrobe. When I started planning this project I was looking around for heart fabric. Then the unthinkable happened. I found some Liberty of London Darfur knit on fabric.com that I could not unsee! I frantically looked for a suitable alternative but I just kept coming back to this print and drooling over it.

What was a girl to do? Well, I knew my husband would be getting me a valentines gift. I wonder if he had anything picked out yet? Maybe I could get in ahead and suggest that if he did not already have some I would really love 2 yards of this gorgeous heart fabric.

Well, that worked, and here I am. I am soooo in love with this tunic! The Pemberley cinches and skims in all the right places. I made the full bust option and it fir perfectly, not even a little pull. I am so thankful she provides this option as it saves time not having to do a full bust adjustment.

The fabric is heavenly, nice and lightweight. The colors are so rich and fabulous.  I will be able to wear this well into the Texas summer even at 3/4 sleeves.

As for Date Night itself, I don’t know what we are doing yet, but casual and fun is our style and I can sport this super cute tunic just about anywhere!
