Welcome to my stop on the Pattern Revolution Bundle Up Sale Blog tour! This Bundle Up Sale is a Women’s Bundle. I think it’s my favorite so far. So many awesome women’s patterns including Sleepwear, Underthings, Activewear, swimwear, Jeans, Tops, Dresses, and shorts. The designers have really outdone themselves for this one. The Bundle up Sale runs from May 1-8 . During the sale you can get up to 11 amazing women’s patterns for an unbelievable price. The more you buy, the more you save!
I chose to make the Bluezette from Love Notions for the tour. The Bluezette is a knit or knit/woven combo dress that is stuffed full of options. There are two different bodices, a standard close fitting and a relaxed fit. There are sleeve options, lined or unlined. There are several skirt options including circle, hi-lo-tulip, a-line. There is even an underskirt/slip so you can use lightweight or sheer fabrics for some of the skirt options. This is like the Swiss army knife of dress patterns!
I decided to go with a lined sleeveless close fitting bodice and a circle skirt for the tour. I knew I want to make more styles so I went ahead and printed/taped all of the skirt/bodice/sleeve options. I love that if you only wanted to make a specific style Love Notions gives you a printing guide to tell you which pages to print for each option. To make it even easier the pattern utilizes the layers feature in the pdf so you can only print the sizes you need.
The Love Notions Bluezette has a casing that allows you to add elastic to get a great fit. After I sewed up my bodice and skirt I decided to omit the casing and elastic because I like where the dress fit on my longer waist. The next time I make it I will add an inch extra in length to account for my longer torso and add the elastic. Love Notions provides instructions in the pattern and a cutting line to add or remove length.
I love my Love Notions Bluezette. I am working to build a summer wardrobe capsule which I will post more about. This was a perfect staple dress for me to add to my capsule. I made my dress in Stenzo Floral Line Purple from Mabel Madison. The little flowers are so cute and the colors will fit right in to my summer wardrobe. There will be more Bundle Up patterns represented in my capsule too. The patterns are amazing and the price cannot be beat!
