Welcome to my stop on the Pattern Revolution Girls BundleUp! Blog Tour! Today I am sharing the Jam Jam Sleepwear Collection from Love Notions! The Jam Jam Sleepwear comes in sizes 2T-14yrs. It’s an all seasons sleepwear pattern that includes both pants and shorts option. The pattern is rated for beginners and sews up quick and easy.
My daughter wears uniforms at preschool four days a week so fun jammies are a must for us. These fit the bill perfectly. Since February is fast approaching, I decided to do these in a Valentines theme. There is usually a pajama day for her school Valentines party so I wanted to be ready. I cut out a heart in the same knit I used for the neckband and back panel. I just sewed it down with a stretch stitch.
There are so many cute details in these pajamas. I love the back yoke and the gathers. The back also has a shirttail so it’s longer and has good coverage.
The back yoke comes to the front at the shoulders and the front bodice is gathered where they attach. I love that it allows you to add a little accent fabric. I used some Stenzo stripes from Loiseau for the neckband, back yoke, and heart. The main striped fabric is a mystery knit I’ve had in my stash for a while. It’s a rayon jersey, very drapery and soft. You can use just about any knit for this pattern. I like how all the gathers drape with this lighter weight knit.
Both the pants and shorts version has ruffles along the bottom. I love how they come up at the sides instead of being straight across, such an adorable little detail.
We love our Jim Jams and have fabric picked out for a shorts version. Winter doesn’t last long around here so we are already gearing up for spring.
