About

My name is Starly and this is my sewing blog. I sew. I raise children.  I have a full-time career in Enterprise Software Support. This blog will mostly address sewing.

I probably knew how to sew when I was born. I’m from a large family of people who sew. Mom, Grandparents, Great Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles…. Somehow along the way I forgot how. I did a few projects here and there through early adulthood. When I was pregnant with my almost 3-year-old daughter, I decided I wanted to sew most of her clothes. I discovered pdf patterns and a full on obsession was born.

Sewing allows me to be creative, to make things for my family and friends and be part of a truly wonderful community. It’s good for my brain and my soul. This is a place for me to share my projects, my resources, provide helpful information and participate in the sewing community in larger way.

  1. My family is quite similar, however the sewing jean stopped when it got to me unfortunately! When I was younger, my mum used to make me tons of clothes. I learned to sew, but I didn’t keep it up. Your blog brings back memories of my childhood!

  2. Things have changed a lot in sewing land. There are now pdf patterns that you download and print at home with step by step tutorials with photographs of each step and all. It’s really much easier than it used to be =) You should give it a go again if you are interested.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  3. Last year you sewed a jacked with Stenzo panda love fabric. I’ve been trying to locate some with no success. Perhaps you have some left or know a place where I can find some. Thanks in advance for your help!
